9 Study of PV electricity generation in Australia


Over 80% of Australia's national territory has a light intensity of more than 2000 kW/m2/hour, and it has the world’s number one sunlight resource. How to use such natural resource for electricity generation as an issue needs to be considered. Nowadays, Australia government encourage to develop PV industry. The Australian government's support plan, especially the renewable energy target, has greatly affected the domestic photovoltaic market in recent years. The goal is to increase renewable energy generation from 8% to 20% by 2020. It uses renewable energy certificate incentives and renewable energy generation per MWh is eligible for a renewable energy certificate. Renewable energy certificate incentives and solar energy integration are all applicable to photovoltaic systems. Moreover, there are specialized solar energy research institutes, renewable energy centers and national-level scientific and industrial research institutes in Australia. In addition, many famous universities in China have actively engaged in photovoltaic research by setting up specialized scientific research funds and establishing research teams. There also are some Australian university, especially UNSW, cooperating with Chinese companies to make some new PV technologies commercialize.

According to some researchers, most of the photovoltaic incentives or measures have focused on small residential PV systems. The Australian government’s solar flagship program emphasizes large-scale photovoltaic systems. The state governments also expressed their interest in developing large-scale commercial photovoltaic markets. This will help match the power load curve and provide the industry with a better economic foundation.

World Trade Centre Bahrain has an amazing design which is the wind turbines. The generator windmill has a rotor speed of 38 revolutions per minute at full load and is powered by a series of gearboxes placed in the engine compartment to run the generator at 1,500 revolutions per minute.
